A New Rotisserie Chicken Spot Has Opened Right Here in Tenafly

A familiar concept is getting a fresh, flame-kissed upgrade, and it's happening right in our backyard.

Rosto Chicken, a new fast-casual rotisserie concept, has quietly opened in Tenafly, NJ, and it's already turning heads. The brainchild of Jonathan Krieger, co-founder of the beloved Australian coffee brand Bluestone Lane, Rosto is built around a simple but compelling idea: premium, wood-fired rotisserie chicken at a price families can actually feel good about.

What makes Rosto stand out is its fully wood-fired indoor rotisserie, which Krieger says is one of only a handful in the entire country. The birds are pasture-raised, antibiotic-free, and sourced from Amish farms. A whole chicken runs about $29, with sides like roasted brussels sprouts, caramelized cabbage, and Jerusalem artichokes with za'atar rounding out the menu.

The space itself is compact at just 800 square feet and designed primarily for takeout and delivery, though limited seating has recently been added. So far, roughly 90% of sales have been off-premise. Think of it as the clean, quality-driven answer to the grab-and-go chicken question.

Krieger tapped Israeli chef Nitzan Raz, who has cooked at Nobu Tribeca and Mesa Grill, to help craft a menu built around ingredients that travel well and taste great at home.

It's early days, but the vision is clear: bring back the spirit of the neighborhood rotisserie chicken dinner, with a lot more intention behind it.
